Insurance Adjuster Found NO Hail Damage - Here's Why We're Inspecting Again

Hail Damage Roof Inspection: When a Second Opinion Matters

What happens when an insurance adjuster finds no hail damage, but a roofing contractor sees evidence of storm damage? In this video, Jay from Blue Fox Roofing & Renovations meets with an insurance engineer for a second roof inspection in Charlotte, NC. After an initial drone inspection found no hail damage, Jay identified areas of concern during his hands-on assessment. Watch as he explains why thorough roof inspections, proper documentation, and honest evaluations are so important when determining whether an insurance claim is warranted.

At Blue Fox, we don't recommend filing a roof insurance claim unless we believe there's credible evidence of damage. Our goal is to help Charlotte-area homeowners understand their roof's condition and make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure.

Well, good morning to you! Actually, it's 11 o'clock.

Do you know where your roofer is?

Well, this roofer is in Charlotte, North Carolina!

I'm at a homeowner's house right now, and you may notice there's another vehicle here.

One of the things we do is meet with insurance adjusters or engineers when they're inspecting a roof.

In this case, I've found signs of hail damage on most of the roof. The original adjuster inspected it using a drone and determined there wasn't any hail damage.

Now we're at what's called a second inspection.

The insurance company's engineer is here, walking around the property and looking at the elevations. He's already inspected the attic, and I'll be accompanying him onto the roof to show him what I found.

I have a saying: **"I only swing at strikes."**

I'm only going to meet with an adjuster, engineer, or other insurance representative if I genuinely believe there's damage to the roof.

I'm not interested in wasting the homeowner's time, my time, or the insurance company's time.

There's no reason to do that just because I need a sale. That's not how we operate.

In this case, I truly believe there's hail damage that needs to be addressed.

Now, mistakes can happen on both sides. But I believe something was missed during that initial inspection, and I'm here to show the engineer what I found.

An engineer has the training and qualifications to evaluate the evidence and determine whether the damage is consistent with hail.

So here I am in Charlotte, getting ready to head up on the roof!
